Weighing Rudolph’s golden coins, counting out baubles to put on the top of iced biscuits and sorting out Santa’s presents – the children in the Nursery had a busy Christmaths week. Future Lord Mayor?

The Nursery children were delighted to meet the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth Steven Wylie this week. The children were all hugely excited about the visit and were able to try on his ceremonial hat and look at the intricate gold braiding on his ceremonial gown.  The Lord Mayor showed them the names of all the previous Lord Mayors engraved on the back of the chain of office as well as the star and moon on the coat of arms.  Everyone even had the opportunity to become Lord Mayor for a few moments when they tried on the chain of office.…

Nursery Ho Ho Ho Down

On the last day of term, the Nursery children excitedly came in wearing their festive jumpers ready for their Christmas party. The morning was spent playing party games, watching an amazing magic show from Professor Potty and enjoying tasty party food supplied by parents. The highlight of the event was, of course, the arrival of Father Christmas with a large sack of presents for the children. Merry Christmas Everyone!

Celebrating the Harvest

This week the nursery children held their first concert of the school year in the David Russell Theatre to celebrate the Harvest Festival.  Since the beginning of September they have been busy learning new songs and visiting the theatre in preparation for the concert.  For many of the children it has been the first time they have experienced a theatre.
