About the Headteacher

Pippa Foster was raised and educated in Portsmouth.

From an early age, Pippa was inspired to become a teacher, believing there to be no job more purposeful, worthwhile or rewarding. More than anything, she enjoys the company of children, regarding it as a privilege to be able to help shape their futures.

Pippa has taught across the primary age range- nursery, infant and junior- initially in London and Brighton, prior to returning to Portsmouth on her marriage to former PGS pupil and local solicitor Robert.

Pippa is a keen supporter of co-education, believing it to prepare pupils for life in its broadest sense, assisting them to establish excellent cross gender relationships. Pippa was appointed Head of the PGS Pre-Prep in 1993, and in 2000 she was asked to mastermind the merger of the Pre-Prep and Lower School into one Junior School, as well as undertaking the provision of a new Nursery.

Keen on sport, art, music and drama, Pippa is a supporter of Pompey Football Club and Hampshire CC.
