The Senior School Library is situated on the first floor in G Block, and is open between 8.45 and 5.30 daily, Monday to Friday. The three separate but interlinked areas of the Library offer a range of study environments : from the calm and studious silence of the Memorial Library – used by sixth formers and Year 11s only – to the busy and purposeful New Library and Project Room, both of which are used by classes on an occasional basis and generally available for quiet work. We provide book, periodicals and multimedia resources to support our pupils in their studies; we offer a gateway to the wider resources that are available from the University Library and from the World Wide Web; we stock an ever-increasing range of current and classic fiction to challenge and stimulate our many readers. The Library staff and the School Archivist are always on hand to support, guide, encourage and enthuse.
The Dickens Library in the Junior School is a magical place to experience
the joy of reading; it is used by small supervised groups of children
on a regular basis, and supplemented by the lending libraries on
the Junior School main site and the Upper Junior School site.
