Next stop, Europe!
Cross-channel relations are being strengthened at PGS; with language proving no barrier for Year 12 drama students and their fifteen French guests who came from Amiens to work with them.
In this, the first stage of an initiative involving four groups from France, Holland and PGS, pupils joined in workshops based on Romeo and Juliet and in puppet-making and puppetry; led in both languages by French and English drama specialists.
As well as sampling the delights of Portsmouth, all pupils also visited London for a day, sightseeing and going to The National Theatre to see a piece of physical theatre, 'The hour we knew nothing of each other'.
'This is a really exciting project, 'said Director of Drama, Mr Mark Smith, 'Everyone really enjoyed themselves and are looking forward to the return event. These links will be invaluable both for the forthcoming IB course as well as our current A Levels.'
The next in the series of events will take place in October at the Lycee Leopold Senghor, Evereux.
