Sun Shines for Postponed Trip by Young Italian Athletes
A visit by young athletes and their coaches from Parma in northern Italy postponed because of the snow and icy conditions in January took place last week and they enjoyed the best of the British Spring weather. The Italian pupils stayed the homes of PGS pupils, a number of whom are studying Italian as part of their IB Diploma.
On Friday, the visitors enjoyed a day in and around Old Portsmouth and the Royal Naval Dockyard with a joint Anglo-Italian meal at Gunwharf Quays to round off the English experience, taking great care to avoid pizza and pasta!
The following day they were guest competitors, accompanying the PGS athletics team to the six-way athletics meeting at Marlborough College where both PGS and the CUS Parma team gave excellent accounts of themselves, with real effort and determination shown as well as some superb team and individual placings.
