Sixth Form

Admissions

Each year a large number of sixth formers begin their studies at PGS having arrived from other schools. New pupils bring vibrancy and energy to the Sixth Form and we are pleased to receive applications from prospective Sixth Formers in Years 10 and 11. We hold a first round of interviews in November of the year prior to entry and further interviews over the course of the year. Prospective pupils are encouraged to apply as early as possible.

Once an application has been made, pupils will be contacted and asked to come to the school for an interview. Usually there will be two interviews and one of them will involve a parent or parents. Following this, successful applicants will be made a conditional offer which requires that a certain number of relevant GCSE grades, depending upon IB or A Level subjects being followed, are obtained.

All Sixth Form candidates are automatically considered for academic scholarships in light of GCSE results.  You can also apply for scholarships in Art, Drama, Music and Sport.  Means-tested bursaries are also available for pupils new to the Sixth Form.

Currently we hold a Tier 4 license to be able to accept international pupils in to our Sixth Form (16 – 18 years old), as we are not a boarding school pupils are offered places on a homestay basis and we can put applicants in touch with agencies who are able to arrange accommodation with families during their time with us at the school. Applicants would need to obtain a Tier 4 visa to study here.  To find out more please click here.
