Isolated Islands play at the PUG Gig

The Pupils’ Uganda Group – affectionately known as PUG – filled the DRT  with music earlier this term to raise funds for our partners in learning, Kikaaya College School in Uganda. The school has been partnered with KCS since for several years with pupils and staff visiting the school over recent years helping with a variety of infrastructure projects, as well as taking part in and teaching classes. Preparation is already well underway for the next trip out to Uganda this summer. Pupils throughout the school have been incredibly engaged with fundraising initiatives, which was exemplified at the PUG Gig.…

Families In Need

The images on the television news over the summer of people leaving their homes to look for a safer and more secure life in Europe for themselves and their children moved the PGS community to launch a campaign at the beginning of this term to offer some support. It was a sporting event that had to be seen to be believed as Zorb Football took over the Sports Hall.  The event was organised by the Cambodia Committee as part of their charity fundraising for the Chai Thom School in Cambodia which the School is linked with via United World Schools. The event was a great success raising £317.  Thank you to everyone that took part and to everyone that so generously donated on the day.

Sixth Form Charity ELF

This week the Sixth Form passed on all the generous donations made to their Christmas charity appeal.   At the assembly on Tuesday Mr Geoff Chape from the Salvation Army spoke about the huge difference receiving the small luxury items will make to families locally this Christmas whilst Matthew Husselby thanked everyone for donating the essential items that will be sent out to Uganda.  To understand the differences and extent that people live in poverty both close to home and in Kampala made for a very reflective assembly.  Thank you to everyone who donated so generously to this year’s appeal.
