The arrival of six ducklings in Reception has caused untold excitement and proved once again the enormous value of having animals in school.

The ducklings arrived a couple of weeks ago, still in their eggs, the children then observing, with awe and wonder, the process of hatching. They helped look after the ducklings as they transferred from their incubator into their new surroundings. They then fed, watered and of course cuddled the ducklings, as they grew rapidly. They even gave them their first swim in the outdoor play area.

The Reception Form rooms became very popular as pupils and teachers came to visit our new recruits, including Dr Cotton. The children were sad to see the ducklings return to the farm but have learned so much from the experience and have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know their feathered friends.
