Professor Elleke Boehmer with Dr Cotton and Mr Cha, Chair of Governors

Sparkling trophies, polished cups and rows of books were all awarded last night at the Prizegiving Celebration in St Thomas’ Cathedral. It was wonderful to welcome families, pupils and staff to celebrate the achievements of our pupils over the last year along with our Guest of Honour, Professor Elleke Boehmer from Oxford University. Professor Boehmer is a founding figure in the field of colonial and postcolonial studies, and internationally known for her research in anglophone literatures of empire and anti-empire.

Senior Prefects, Daisy Watson-Rumbold and Sam Bryan, with Amy Nguyen and Paul Knight

The evening was also an opportunity to thank several special guests; Brian Wilkie this year secured the future of the Wilkie Scholarship with Mayfield School through a significant donation (pictured above with current Wilkie Scholars, Dr Cotton and Mr Cha, Chair of Governors), Paul Knight who is supporting the Prize for Government and Politics and Amy Nguyen who has established a new prize for Sustainable and Social Environment Stewardship.
