Our alumni have fascinating, exciting and diverse careers and we want to harness this experience to help inspire current students. A part of the work of the Development Office is to assist pupils with their career aspirations by identifying alumni, parents and other friends of the school willing to share their experience in a particular field. A series of working lunches each term gives pupils the opportunity to really get the ‘inside track’ on the career they’re interested in. Some alumni, parents and friends also assist by conducting mock interviews with current sixth formers.
With competition for university places and graduate jobs so fierce, practical work experience often gives candidates an added edge. If you are able to offer form of workplace training – from one day’s work experience upwards – please do get in contact. Or if you are a young OP getting started in your career, please do also get in touch; we may just have alumni contacts to enable you to acquire the skills and experience to help you stand out from the crowd.
