Following a classroom initiative between The News (Portsmouth’s local paper) and the English Department, six articles have been published by our pupils in The News.

Neil Fatkin, the Education Correspondent at the newspaper, spent the afternoon with Year 7 talking about writing and journalism, which resulted in the articles being published. Joshua Chatfield asked the question “does technology blight our lives?”; Rachel Wilson told us we should all get up and dance; Lily Eldrid explained why banning fizzy drinks is part of a healthier lifestyle; Melissa Hamilton argues that chess is more than just a board game; Archie Simmons writes about disrespect and cheating in football; Tom Clarke investigates ‘shrinkflation’.
