From busy bees to hungry caterpillars and number bonding – Reception and Year 1 were busy last week!

Reception’s learning about ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ has continued with practical activities to develop their knowledge of symmetry. The children chose lots of different ways to demonstrate symmetry and symmetrical patterns, as demonstrated by Rose. The children also followed instructions to create caterpillars using card and had races using straws. Henry had a lot of fun with this activity!

Year One have been learning all about bees! Florence created a wonderful bee sculpture plan as a part of her remote learning. Dottie created an excellent example of the life-cycle of a bee, while Eric drew a very busy bee in action!

The children have also been practising number bonds to 10 – congratulations to Seb who was able to find 3 numbers that he could add together to make 10.
