The ongoing efforts to become a more sustainable school have been recognised this week through gaining the Eco-Schools Bronze Award. The Pre-School, Junior and Senior Schools have continued to make significant progress throughout the year and the closure of the school has provided an opportunity for the supporting evidence to be compiled and finalised by the SS Eco-Council.
The Bronze Award recognises that PGS has Eco-Councils which regularly meet and communicate with the wider school community. It also recognises that an Environmental Review of the whole school has been carried out, which essentially measures our current level of sustainability. Pupils this term have been adding to our ongoing action plan, which also acted as evidence to gain the Bronze Award. In September, we will continue to work towards the highly acclaimed Green Flag award by continuing to carry out the action plan and recognising the many ways in which sustainability is embedded within the PGS curriculum. A big thank you and well done to all those involved; this achievement belongs to anyone who has engaged in these initiatives!
