Year Three had a wonderful time learning about Roman Times at the Fishbourne Roman Palace recently. They looked at the beautiful mosaics, marvelling at how we can still see things from almost 2000 years ago.
“My favourite part of the visit was learning about the underground heating because it is very clever,” said Archie. “It is called the Hypocaust.”
During the workshop, they got to try out different activities including spinning wool, writing their name in Roman letters and making a mosaic. They also had a visit from a Roman soldier!
“I particularly enjoyed seeing the mosaic of Cupid on a dolphin,” said Artemis. “I thought about how long it took to build.”
