Year 2 were very lucky to have the opportunity to go to Fairthorne Manor recently.
It was their first experience of an overnight residential and all of them loved it. One big thing they learnt was the importance of teamwork, especially when trying to build a waterproof den! Some children also learnt how to take risks safely, even conquering their fear of heights on the zip wire.
Benji (2P) said ‘I loved the zip wire because I felt like I was flying.’ Nora (2P) agreed, stating it ‘made her tummy tickle.’
All the children enjoyed the green fields and although it was a warm day they didn’t want to rest! At dinnertime everyone worked together to clean the tables and plates. The campfire went down extremely well and the activity leaders were surprised at how many songs our children knew.
It was a fantastic and unforgettable trip.
