This Sunday 23rd June, the Portsmouth Festivities invites you to their free closing event: 20 Love, a live stage performance taking place on Governor’s Green. Portsmouth Festivities are celebrating 20 years as a festival, which has brought thousands of events to the city over the years, and remains Portsmouth’s flagship arts and cultural festival.
20 Love is the culmination of a 6-month project, funded by the Arts Council England, which sees artists across numerous disciplines creating work inspired by Pablo Neruda’s 20 Love Poems and a Song of Despair.
This the first time that Festivities has embarked on such a large scale poetry project, and it has also inspired our public to get involved. Over the last few months, the people of Portsmouth have been sending us their love poems, and some of this work can be seen and heard during the evenings event.
We thank you for your support of the Portsmouth Festivities and we look forward to the next 20 years!
This is will be from 8-9.30pm on Governor’s Green, Portsmouth, PO1 2NJ. Tickets are free, booking is required for capacity.
