During their time here, our pupils have a long association with Portsmouth Cathedral. There are numerous, assemblies, events and services held there from the Carol Service to Harvest Festival, Prize Giving to art exhibitions and of course our half termly Junior School assemblies. Some of our Junior boys are Cathedral Choristers and many of our families attend services and other family activities there.
It is a wonderful venue and provides a spectacular space in which to sing, play music and reflect on all that we do. We are always made to feel very welcome there and the Cathedral is very much part of PGS life.
It is always very special therefore when our Reception pupils visit for the Cathedral for the very first time, as they did last week. Despite only being at school for a little over a week the children sat and sang beautifully and they listened carefully to Mr Hopkinson and Canon Peter. They then enjoyed a tour of where they found out about what happens in different parts of the Cathedral and what some of the statues and other icons represent.
They had a fantastic morning and we are so very proud of the way the behaved and asked lots of questions.
