Alison Carmichael with Cleo’s winning entry

Just before half term Year 6 were set the challenge to write their own name in a font or style that expressed their personality – these were then sent to Alison Carmichael, a hand lettering artist and calligrapher to judge.

Alison is responsible for the font of companies such as Sainsburys, Kingsmill, Madame Tussaud and hundreds more, so it was amazing that she took so much time to look over the children’s work.

This week the winner was announced in assembly with Alison sending a short film for the children to watch with her feedback on what amazing work they had produced. The overall winner was the work created by Cleo, with Alison commenting “it was charming and made me smile”.

Thank you to everyone that took part and congratulations to Cleo and the three runners up: Indi, Will and Attish.
