We are thrilled to announce that Imogen Stewart (Year 8) has won the national ACLS CKG 2019 Writing Competition.

This required writing a diary entry for a favourite character.  Judges said ‘Her entry, based on Sea Spell by Jennifer Donnelly, was very engaging and a fabulous read.’ In addition to her prizes of books and an Amazon Fire tablet she was also invited to attend the Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Medal Awards this week held at the British Library.  Imogen found herself in the front row seated with the authors whose work had been nominated for a medal.  Their books have been read by our pupils in the Year 7 and 8 reading clubs this year as part of the shadowing scheme.

Whilst Imogen enjoyed her exciting and much deserved day out, her PGS reading colleagues watched the live streaming of the ceremony, to see which authors would win medals and to catch a glimpse of Imogen as she mingled with the glitterati!
