We are pleased to announce that this year we have increased our support of Shaping Portsmouth from the Partner to the Patron level.
The Shaping Portsmouth organisation is a community interest company that delivers both a strategic and operational partnership between Portsmouth City Council, Portsmouth businesses, and educational institutions at all levels in the City. Their aim is to run valuable and relevant programmes that support the needs of the City, and the objectives of their partners.
Stef Nienaltowski, CEO of Shaping Portsmouth, said “The support The Portsmouth Grammar School are committing to Shaping is a testament to the new leadership and vision of their head, Dr Anne Cotton. I have had the pleasure of meeting Anne a few times since her appointment and her ideas and vision for the School and it’s place in our community is fascinating and will crate real value for the City. I welcome this strengthened partnership and look forward to work closely with Anne and her team on a range of projects and programmes.”
Dr Anne Cotton said: “The Portsmouth Grammar School was founded almost 300 years ago as a city centre school, to support the young people of Portsmouth. We are keen to work with city partners to support educational developments in the city and to ensure the continuing growth of Portsmouth as a cultural hub and a successful city economy. We are proud to support the Portsmouth Festivities, which celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, and are looking to extend our partnerships within the city. July saw the school host its first Gifted and Talented Summer School for children from local schools, and we are working on an initiative to see every Sixth Form pupil complete an extended placement in the community. We very much look forward to playing an active role in Shaping.”
