Congratulations to our swimmers who put in an outstanding display in the Bath and Otter Cup for Independent Schools last week.

The team won The Dunhelm Cup which is awarded for the 4 x 50m medley relay.  This win is a first for PGS having competed each year for over 10 years in this prestigious national schools’ event.  Winning and being presented with gold medals at the Olympic pool in the Aquatics Centre, Queen Elizabeth Park in London made it even more special for the team.

Their winning time was 1 min 58 seconds, some 3 seconds faster than the team who came second which over 50 metres is a fantastic achievement.  Our time was also only 0.48 of a second slower than the event record.  This great result was backed up by winning Silver medals for coming a very close second in the Aldenham Cup final, 4 x 100m freestyle, with a time of 3 min 55 seconds.

The team was Brandon Choi (Butterfly), Luke Robins (Backstroke), Thomas Miller (Freestyle) and Dominic Johnson (Breaststroke).
