Both teams at the start

An intrepid group of Year 10s and Sixth Formers headed down to Okehampton Camp on Dartmoor to attempt the 35 and 55 mile Ten Tors Challenge routes respectively last week.

Alongside teenagers from approximately 200 other schools and youth organisations and a team from Blue Peter they were treated to a display of fast-roping by Commandos descending from a Sea King helicopter before the artillery cannons sounded the start of the event at 07:00 on Saturday.

Both of our teams showed admirable teamwork and determination to successfully navigate across the moor, even in thick mist, crossing rivers and camping out without any adult assistance. They were both warmly welcomed by the spectators as they finished as complete teams in impressive times on Sunday.
