Forty-one Swedish Sixth Form students from a school just south of Gothenburg sailed into Portsmouth last week, mooring at Gunwharf Quays and spending the week exploring the local area as well as continuing their studies aboard their tall ship, TS Gunilla.
For over fifteen years, pupils from the school have made an annual visit, linking up with The Portsmouth Grammar School both to visit an English school and to meet English families. This year, they also visited the D-Day Museum, the Dockyard and the Tech Deck at Ben Ainslie Racing, enjoying the footage there of the Americas Cup World Series event in Gothenburg last summer as well as the two Portsmouth events.
The ship and crew have now sailed on to Cherbourg and then head for Spain and Morocco, you can follow their progress on by clicking here.
We look forward to welcoming TS Gunilla back next year.
