‘It doesn’t matter what age you are at PGS to fall under the spell of a warm library and a good book!’

Year 1 and Year 12 pupils came together on Wednesday to enjoy stories in the Senior School Library.  Year 12 pupils shared their love of reading by taking time out of their busy academic studies to sit and read exciting books ranging from Quentin Blake’s Mr Magnolia to Shirley Hughes’ Alfie, reuniting themselves with familiar childhood memories and inspiring the younger pupils with their animating reading.

Organisers Ms Hart and Dr Webb said, ‘it is such a pleasure to see the library buzzing with excitement and activity.  We think the Year 12s were enjoying the books just as much as the Year 1s!’

Year 1 pupils were also given a small gift to remember their visit, a copy of this year’s Kate Greenaway Medal award winning book There’s a Bear in my Chair.  The Senior School library look forward to Year 1 visiting again.
