At the heart of our school community are our talented, dedicated and caring staff.
Staff Opportunities and Development
We seek to recruit talented staff who are experts in their field, committed to our values, passionate about developing young people to thrive in the world beyond school, dedicated to the highest standards of individual care, and keen to contribute to the wider life of the school.
We attach great value to supporting our staff to develop and grow in their work through stimulating Professional Development Days, creative collaboration within and between departments, and coaching and peer mentoring.
We regularly support trainee teachers and newly qualified teachers and have a robust internal programme of support for Early Career Teachers, alongside a middle leadership programme to support those in post or aspiring to take on a middle leadership role.
We encourage all those interested in working with us to email our Human Resources (HR) team at [email protected].
Safeguarding
PGS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with previous employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The School may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants.
The safeguarding responsibilities of each post are included in the job description for each vacancy.
All posts are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self-declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
Our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and Procedure can be found on our Policies & Reports page.
