Big questions, bold learners: A world of curiosity awaits.

Curiosity-Fuelled Learning

In the Junior School, our dynamic thematic curriculum engages pupils from Pre-School through to Year 6, exploring broad, enriching themes that stimulate curiosity and enquiry. Each term focuses on a "Big Question" that weaves through all areas of learning, promoting interdisciplinary connections and fostering critical thinking and problem-solving.

Making Meaningful Connections

Our approach to teaching enriches subject learning by embedding it within a broader context, allowing pupils to make meaningful connections across different disciplines. This holistic strategy helps develop transferable skills, preparing children for success in all areas of life.

Global and Cultural Awareness

Cultural and global awareness are also at the heart of our curriculum, with broad themes that help pupils understand social, environmental, and cultural issues, while expanding their cultural capital.

Debating, Languages and Communication Skills

From Year 3 onwards, we enhance learning through weekly ‘Debating and Current Affairs’ lessons, ensuring our pupils become confident speakers, critical thinkers and globally aware individuals. Throughout Pre-School to Year 5, all children are taught French by specialist teachers. In Year 6, pupils continue to benefit from subject specialist teaching in French and they are also introduced to Spanish, preparing them for the linguistic opportunities of Senior School.

Specialist Subject Teaching

Specialist subject teaching further enriches our curriculum, with expert teachers in French and Music from Pre-School to Year 6, Art from Year 2 to Year 6, Drama and Science from Year 3, and PE & Games throughout. This combination of thematic and specialist teaching ensures a well-rounded, robust educational experience for every pupil.
