The Health and Wellbeing Centre is located in the heart of the school and offers medical care and counselling assistance to our pupils when they need it.

It has a full-time nurse who pupils may see if they feel unwell during the school day. The centre can also hold medicines for pupils during the school day.
The Health and Wellbeing Centre is also home to the Counselling Service. All pupils are welcome to see a school counsellor either by making an appointment or by attending a drop-in clinic.

A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion is one of the cornerstones of The Portsmouth Grammar School's ethos.
As one of the first schools in the UK to set up a pride society, we have created a school culture which unambiguously celebrates difference. At PGS, we want individuals to be happy being their true, authentic selves.

Pupils have the opportunity to contribute to our progress on equality by attending the co-curricular PGS Diversity and Inclusion society, contributing to the school blog, joining working groups and leading peer-to-peer training.
As a School, we understand that our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion is an ongoing journey. We are still listening, learning, and improving all the time and remain committed to this as a whole school community.
Online Safety
Online safety is of paramount importance. In an increasingly complex digital landscape, where opportunities and risks coexist, our approach is to both protect and educate our pupils. We aim not only to keep children safe online but also to empower them to make the most of the digital world—for their education, social development, and wellbeing. We are really proud of our online safety provision, and we were pleased that this was recognised in June 2025 when we were awarded the 360 degree Online Safety mark for the third consecutive time.
