Nurturing and developing a lifelong love of learning is at the heart of our Early Years provision and your child will benefit greatly from a caring, supportive and individualised approach to their personal development.
It is so important that your child feels happy, that their contribution is cherished and that they learn to understand the importance of forming friendships and enjoying their learning journey together.
From the first day your child joins us in Reception, we aim to promote the personal skills of sharing, respect and independence alongside covering the more traditional areas of learning: literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, expressive arts and design. This all centres on the development of your child; it is enriched with lessons in French, Music, PE and Cookery and from a themed approach to learning as part of our Connected Curriculum.
Our class sizes are small to ensure we can work with each child individually. Every form is supported by a full time Teacher and Teaching Assistant, to make sure that this is possible.
The Form Teacher is your child’s key person, responsible for their learning journey, and the link between school and home. The happiness and well-being of your child is paramount, we want your child to be settled, secure and happy in the Junior School.
The strong and secure foundations provided in Reception ensure not only a smooth transition into Year 1, but also an awareness of a love of learning that will help their future success and happiness as they continue their learning journey through the Junior School, Senior School and beyond.
